Almost done!
I was eager to get my left hip done. It was worse than the right one. Dr. Parvizi said if the right hip did well with the FAO, then he would do the left side.
My arthritis was severe, so we were excited when the FAO worked well on my right side.
I knew that I wanted to get it done as quick as possible. It would be 7 months in between surgeries. The recovery from the right hip wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
The worst was walking on the icy areas in parking lots! I was so paranoid of biting the dust! I did slip in the PT parking lot. Go figure!
This June, I wouldn't have to worry about falling on the ice at least!
The surgery went exactly the same as before! Dr. Parvizi said there were more cysts in this hip and the labrum was shredded. Unfortunately, they were not able to repair it.
They said that I would need a replacement on that side sooner than later.
I didn't do any PT after this surgery. I did workout when I was able to. I used resistance bands while I was recovering on the couch. I had to work out my shoulders, triceps, etc even if I couldn't do my legs or hips.
After a few months, I noticed that I was able to lift my legs a little better than before. The arthritis was still present and burning and I continued taking Voltaren (Rx NSAID) to assist in that.
I'm positive about my recovery now and look forward to not needing hip surgeries. However, I'm noticed it is very painful to lift my left leg to put on shoes. Hmm....
